OFAKLS January 2025 Luncheon – Hosted By Datuk Abu Huraira Abu Yazid

The OFAKLS January 2025 Luncheon, graciously hosted by Datuk Abu Huraira Abu Yazid (Class of ‘72 U6, Past President OFAKLS) took place recently at Wisma HRD Corp, with 57 Old Frees in attendance.

The luncheon also welcomed the Senior Leadership Committee Members of HRD Corp, led by Chief Executive Datuk Wira Shahul Dawood.

In his welcoming speech, the OFAKLS President expressed gratitude to the host and shared updates on the Association’s upcoming activities. Datuk Abu Huraira paid tribute to the Old Frees; present and those who have passed on. He briefly touched on his role as Chairman in HRD Corp, which was further elaborated on by Datuk Wira Shahul.

Members were later presented with HRD Corp’s strategic roadmap by the Chief Strategy Officer, who highlighted the organization’s national relevance and key focus areas. This was followed by an insightful presentation by the Chief Programmes Officer, who detailed HRD Corp’s products, levy schemes, and the National Training Week 2025—an initiative aimed at providing free access to quality learning and development opportunities.

Before enjoying the sumptuous lunch hosted by Datuk Abu Huraira, the OFAKLS President presented mementos to both Datuk Abu Huraira and Datuk Wira Shahul Dawood. In return, the Chief Executive presented a token of appreciation to the Association, received by OFAKLS President Mr. Ivan Ooi.

The luncheon concluded with a group photo, marking the end of another successful gathering.
